FWS Student Scenic Technician
TAPS (Theater & Performance Studies) seeks student technicians to work in the Scene Shop. Students should expect to work 1-2 shifts of 3-4 hour per week onsite in our shop and theater spaces. Shifts will be available Monday - Friday mornings (9am-12pm) and afternoons (1-4:30pm).
Prior scenic experience is not required. Students will be trained on equipment and procedures as needed to build for the current production(s). This may include but is not limited to the following:
- Carpentry & welding to construct set pieces
- Installing sound and lighting equipment
- 3D printing and laser cutting for smaller set elements
- Rigging and automation
- Scenic Painting
Base Pay starts at $17.64/hr after completing 1 quarter for credit through TAPS39, or request an exemption interview.
FWS: This position is open (but not limited) to students who are Federal Work Study eligible.
