About Belonging, Access & Career Equity (BACE) Team:
We work at the intersection of identity and career development to ensure that students from all backgrounds and experiences (seen and unseen) feel heard and supported as they take the next steps in their career journey. 
 
Communities include but are not limited to
Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA), Black, Students with a Disability or Learning Difference, First Generation and/or Low-Income (FLI), International, Latinx, LGBTQIA, Native American, Veteran, Women, and Communities of Faith
 
Programs include but are not limited to
  • Identity-specific career programs, mixers, and panels
  • Identity-based drop-in hours via Zoom and Slack
  • 1:1 career coaching appointment
 
Responsibilities & Duties
As part of the BACE team, your focus will be on increasing access to career-related information by providing presentations, workshops, events, and drop-in hours both virtually and in-person to students. You will work with other Peer Career Coaches to research and share DEI-specific resources and events with identity-based student organizations and community centers to help level the playing field.

Communication/Marketing
  • Present to student organizations, community centers, residence halls, and classes to provide an overview of CareerEd services and how to use the various platforms (i.e. Stanford Alumni Mentoring Platform, Handshake, Big Interview, Interstride, Forage, etc.)
  • Outreach to alumni to participate in social media campaigns related to various history and heritage months
  • Outreach to community centers and student organizations on identity-based career programs
  • Assist with marketing events and social media campaigns  
 
Coaching/Advising
  • Ability to provide individual career coaching during drop-in hours (i.e. resume/cover letter/LinkedIn/etc)
  • Shadow career coaching appointments during drop-in hours or virtually
 
Research
  • Research on-campus and external career-related resources focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Attend various online and in-person CareerEd events to learn more about CareerEd services
 
Requirements
  • Ability to use Slack, Asana, and Canva
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • MS Office, MS Excel, Google Drive proficiency
 
Knowledge of career-related topics or platforms is not necessary when applying since training will be provided. Preference will be given to Federal Work Study (FWS) eligible students but is not a requirement for the role.
