TAPS (Theater & Performance Studies) seeks students to work with the Scene Shop. Students should expect to work 3-4 hours per week remotely including regular check-in meetings with a shop staff member. Meeting hours are currently available on Tuesdays and Fridays between 8am-4:30pm Pacific Time.

Prior scenic experience is not required. Duties and tasks are currently computer-based as we are displaced from campus. Projects can include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with construction of our digital performances
  • Research and formatting to improve our digital Props Inventory
  • Research and data entry to expand our digital Tool and Equipment Inventory
  • Generate labeling for shop equipment
  • Possible small electronics projects that can be shipped to your location
  • Drafting projects (with previous experience)

As staff and students return to campus, the scope will adjust accordingly until we have returned to regular operations. At that point, duties will be almost entirely in the shop and theater spaces and will include more standard methods of production such as set carpentry, welding, painting, automation, light & curtain hangs.

Base Pay starts at $16.05/hr after completing 1 quarter for credit through TAPS39.
FWS: This position is open to students who are Federal Work Study eligible.
